Audrey, 18 Months
With 2 top canines in and the bottom ones coming right behind, 18-month old Audrey has almost all her baby teeth (except the 2 year molars). Imitation is the name of the name when it comes to verbal communication, as Audrey tries to repeat everything we say. Her most advanced vocabulary group has to do with food (shocking!), she’s quite demanding when she asks for beesh (berries), ah-bo (apple), cheese, nai nai (milk/smoothie), oh-ange (orange), ava-do (avocado), ai-ggs (eggs), and s-na (snack). She has gotten quite used to her potty, peeing in it about 50% of the time we sit on her the potty. And as witnessed by the photo above, her potty book is one of her favorites to read. It’s been half a year since her first birthday, and it’s amazing to think of all the growing up she’s done in the last 6 months. It’s been such a fun journey watching her personality develop as she explores this world.
Her 18 month stats:
Weight: 21.8 lbs
Height: 31.75 in
Hair: Soft fuzzy curls
Favorite Activity: Anything related to Lonestar, like scooping dog food. Sounds like a chore but Audrey feels so proud when she can feed her best friend.
Or taking Lonestar on a walk. If you ask Audrey about going on a walk, she’ll immediate run across the house to get Lonestar’s “laysh”.
And boy does she love leading Lonestar on a walk.
Fun Adventure: We traveled to Tyler, where Audrey got to spend her second Christmas with both sets of grandparents and her cousins Kaylynn and Ben. This year, Audrey took much more interest in all the tree ornaments.
After Christmas, we met up with Audrey’s friend Josie at the McKenna Children’s Museum in New Braunfels for a fun playdate!
Back in Austin, Audrey’s museum fun continued this month with a visit to the Contemporary Austin for the Do Ho Suh exhibit, The Umlauf Sculpture Garden, and another visit to The Thinkery.
